WHO WE ARE:
We are the official Top 10 Martial Arts Schools Award winner, Taekwondo and Hapkido Martial Arts Self Defense School of Conyers, Georgia. The area’s most respected martial arts self defense school offering programs for all ages and skill levels. Our senior master instructor, Grand Master Gregory Glover, is a member of the Korean Martial Arts Instructors Association World Counsel and the Executive Director of the US National Taekwondo Association. He has been inducted into the World Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Fame in ten different categories. We are proud to say that we are the ONLY school in the state of Georgia to ever earn these awards! We are also an American Dragon Martial Arts Academies affiliate school recognized as a leader in the martial arts community.
WHAT IS MARTIAL ARTS:
In its broadest sense, the martial arts refer to any type of combat technique, often stressing hand and foot combat like Taekwondo. In many cases, the term is used to refer to self-defense techniques born in Asian countries such as the self defense art of Hapkido.
Mental discipline and the search for enlightenment are also part and parcel of many martial arts. While some focus on using one’s feet to attack or disarm an opponent, other martial arts concentrate on the use of one’s hands or making throws to render an opponent useless.
At our Taekwondo and Hapkido self defense school in Conyers, Georgia we offer a well rounded program that develops the Mind, Body and Spirit of the students. We are the only school in the state of Georgia authorized to teach the military Taekwondo style of JungDoKwan founded by Yong Woo Lee in 1944.
We mention this because there are two kinds of Taekwondo. The combat sport of Taekwondo that focuses solely on fighting that you see in the Olympics and then there is the military self defense art of Taekwondo that is taught by the “Kwans” such as JungDoKwan.
In the military style of Taekwondo we focus on self defense, self improvement and self development.
That is why the military style of Taekwondo is a great way to increase confidence and improve self esteem. It has a rich history that can be traced back over 2,000 years.
